Digital audio is having a moment. Audio ad spend is projected to grow 50% by 2026 with podcast advertising accounting for nearly ⅓ of all digital audio ad spend. It is estimated that podcast advertising alone will surpass 4 billion dollars in 2024. A lot has happened in the audio world over the past 10 years since the creation of dynamic ad insertion (DAI). Prior to 2013, podcast performance was measured through promo codes, a clouded format that limited accurate measurement. The invention of DAI allowed advertisers to track podcast ad performance through digital means, and led to the accelerated growth of the digital audio landscape.
